A Katana? What's That?

Katana is a type of traditional Japanese swords. It's usually single-edged (letting the weapon smiths reinforce the sword on the other side), and is between 70cm and 90cm in length. Making a katana by using traditional means may take several days and involve many people. Polishing the blade and giving it that beautiful look usually takes even longer than actually forging it.

Nowadays only a few certified Japanese smiths can make a traditional katana. These are very priced and are hard to come by. You can always buy replications as these cost anywhere from $20 (cheap yet cool looking toys) to $2000 (high quality replications you can actually cut something with).
