Age of Conan: a new, sexy MMORPG
This might be interesting for video game lovers out there. A Norwegian game developer company, Funcom, is working on a new MMORPG game called "Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures". Compared to it's likely competitors, such as Warhammer, Age of Conan has pretty little publicity. Have you heard about it? No? Read on. Age of Conan, like the name suggest, is based on Conan novels by Robert E. Howard. It's set in world of Hyboria: a dark, dangerous and brutal place. The game is supposed to have the same atmosphere (the developers keep mentioning that there are boobies and you can behead people... heh). The game will be rated M (Mature), meaning you have to be 17 or older to buy it. That also depends on the country you live in. The main good points of the game are:
- Incredible DX10 graphics.
- 7.1 soundtrack.
- A "real" combat system where you have to target each blow instead of selecting your enemy and having your character execute skills.
- Fatalities. You can, like, behead people. And do other creative and brutal things.
- Did I mention boobies? I have been following this game for a while and have high hopes for it. The real combat system looks especially promising. Age of Conan is slated for release on 20th May, 2008.
